📦 Important Announcement: US De Minimis Rule No Longer in Effect for Thailand
As of August 29, the de minimis rule is no longer in effect for US-bound shipments from Thailand. This means ecommerce sellers can no longer send commercial goods by air valued under $800 duty-free.
Now might be a good time to diversify your logistics options.
It also means that if you don’t have one — you will need an IOR (Importer of Record) number. (If your customer serves as the importer, you may use their documentation.)
Important: Amazon is not considered the IOR when selling on their platform.
An IOR number is required to file an Entry Type 11 (for shipments valued under $2,500).
Once your shipment exceeds $2,500, you must file a Type 01, which also requires a Single or Multiple Entry Bond.
In addition, many air freight providers may now request additional documentation, such as HTS codes and more detailed packing lists.
